JUNIOR FARM SCHOOL

Junior Farm School is a unique opportunity for young kids in grades TK-1st grade to experience the wonders of farm life while engaging in hands-on activities and educational adventures. Themed units integrate art, STEM, music, movement, and nature, providing a wide variety of experiences for these early learners. This two day class will help kids connect with the environment and with each other as they explore the natural world, tap into their imagination and creativity, and build lasting memories together. Kids must turn 4 by 9/1/25 to be eligible.

HOMESTEADING

Welcome to Homesteading, where kids roll up their sleeves and become active stewards of the farm! In this hands-on class, students will help maintain and care for the garden, participate in new planting projects, and take part in building and improvement projects around the farm. They’ll explore how plants, animals, insects, and the environment all work together in a healthy farm ecosystem, gaining practical skills and seasonal knowledge along the way. Kids will also get to experiment with preparing and tasting foods from the garden, turning fresh harvests into simple, delicious creations. By contributing to the care and growth of the farm, students gain a deeper appreciation for nature and the satisfaction of helping the farm thrive.

TINY WORLDS

In this hands-on art and nature class, students will explore the miniature worlds all around them, discovering the beauty and wonder of life on a small scale. Through stories, observation, and creative projects, they’ll use a variety of materials—including natural elements—to design and build their own tiny environments, whether that’s a whimsical fairy house or recreating an animal habitat. This class encourages curiosity, imagination, and a deeper appreciation for the hidden details of nature while giving students plenty of opportunities to create, experiment, and get their hands a little messy.

HERBALISM

In this hands-on herbalism class, students in 3rd–8th grade will explore the fascinating world of plants and their traditional uses. Through observation, simple experiments, and creative projects, they’ll learn how herbs have been used for food, wellness, and everyday living throughout history. Students will build confidence identifying common plants, learn safe and practical ways to work with herbs, and gain a deeper appreciation for the natural world around them.

CREATIVE STUDIO

In Creative Studio, students will dive into fun, hands-on art projects that spark imagination and creativity. Using materials like clay, paint, beads, textiles, and natural elements, kids will explore new techniques and create unique, personal projects. The class provides guidance and inspiration while encouraging students to experiment and express their own ideas. Creative Studio celebrates curiosity, artistic exploration, and the joy of making, giving kids the opportunity to produce beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations in a supportive and inspiring environment.

BAKE & CREATE

In this hands-on baking class, kids will learn to make a variety of delicious baked goods, from breads and cookies to muffins and pastries. Along the way, they’ll also explore the fun and creative world of cake and dessert decorating, learning techniques to make their treats look as good as they taste. This class combines practical baking skills with artistic expression, giving students the chance to experiment, practice, and take home creations they can be proud of. This class will have an additional material fee of $25 per student.

BUG BIOGRAPHERS

This is a hands-on exploration of the insect world! Students will observe and identify bugs, document their discoveries through nature journaling, and learn about habitats, ecosystems, and bug behavior. The class blends science, art, and STEM activities, from sketching and creative projects to building bug habitats, all designed to engage K–5 students at their own level of curiosity and skill.

INVENTOR SPOTLIGHT

Step into the world of inventors, designers, and innovators, and discover the stories behind some of history’s most fascinating minds! Each week, students will explore a different inventor and their groundbreaking creations, uncovering how their ideas changed the world. Through hands-on experiments, building projects, and creative design challenges, kids will get to bring their own inventions to life, inspired by the brilliance of these trailblazers. Packed with fresh projects and new discoveries, this class is a fun and exciting continuation for young makers eager to invent, experiment, and think like a true innovator.

MUSIC MAKERS

In this hands-on music class, students will explore the world of rhythm, sound, and movement! Kids will learn about different types of music from around the globe and discover how rhythm shapes songs and cultures everywhere. They’ll get creative making their own instruments, using their bodies to move to the beat, and experimenting with sound in a collaborative “music playground.” This class combines musical learning, cultural exploration, and playful expression, giving students the chance to create, perform, and experience music in exciting and interactive ways. The class will conclude with a special performance for parents, where students can showcase what they’ve learned.

BOOK CLUB

Step into a world of stories, imagination, and a little bit of magic in Book Club! Students and families will read or listen to chapter books at home, then gather on the farm to bring each story to life. At the start of each class, we’ll enjoy a cozy tea-time discussion—sipping, snacking, and sharing favorite moments from the story. Each class will also include creative activities like art, games, and hands-on projects inspired by the book. Every story takes us on a new adventure, exploring themes like friendship, courage, nature, and far-off places. Reading can be done independently, with a parent, or through audiobooks—no independent reading required. At the end of each book, we’ll celebrate with a special gathering full of fun and surprises.

FARM TO JAR

In Farm to Jar, kids dive into the delicious world of fermenting and preserving! Using fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs from the farm, students will learn how to safely transform harvests into jams, pickles, ferments, and more. They’ll get hands-on experience in every step of the process and take home their tasty creations to share. This class blends science, creativity, and practical skills, giving students a fun and flavorful way to explore how food can be preserved and enjoyed all year long.

MAKERS LAB

Makers Lab is a hands-on creative class where kids get to experiment with a wide variety of materials and bring their ideas to life! Throughout the semester, students will be introduced to a new material—such as wood, clay, beads, textiles, and nature-inspired elements—learning about its uses and creative possibilities. After exploring each material and practicing different techniques, students will have open lab time to design and create their own unique projects. This class encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking, making it the perfect space for young inventors, artists, and builders to explore, experiment, and make something all their own.

THEATER

In this engaging theater class, students will work together to bring a full performance to life from start to finish. Throughout the semester, they will focus on developing their acting skills, learning lines, understanding characters, and practicing stage movement as they rehearse a single production. With an emphasis on teamwork, responsibility, and expressive performance, students will grow in confidence as they prepare for the stage. The class will culminate in a special showcase for parents, where students will perform their finished production and celebrate all their hard work.

READING BOOST

Reading Boost is a supportive, small-group class designed to help struggling readers build confidence and strengthen essential reading skills. Led by our reading specialist, students will receive targeted instruction using Orton-Gillingham strategies, a structured, multi-sensory approach that supports reading and spelling. With personalized guidance and encouragement, this class helps students make meaningful progress while developing a more positive relationship with reading.

EARTH ENGINEERS

Welcome to Earth Engineers—a hands-on elective where students explore science and engineering. Through experiments, projects, and creative problem-solving challenges, students will design solutions to real-world questions. From earth and life science to physical science topics, students will learn by doing—asking questions, testing ideas, and discovering how the world works around them. This class is a continuation of last year’s course, with all new content, and is designed to welcome both new and returning students. With a focus on curiosity and active learning, students will build a strong science foundation in a fun and meaningful way.

NINOS & NATURE

In Niños and Nature, kids will learn beginner Spanish while exploring the outdoors and discovering the rich cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. Students will build their language skills through interactive lessons, while also engaging in art projects, nature study, cooking simple recipes, and enjoying stories that highlight the cultures and customs of various Spanish-speaking countries. This class will deepen kids’ connection to both nature and the global community as they have fun learning a new language through creative experiences. New students as well as returning students are welcome to attend this interactive Spanish experience!

ART MASTERS

In Art Masters, students will explore the lives and work of famous artists from around the world. Each week, they’ll learn about a different artist’s style, techniques, and creative approach, then create their own art project inspired by that artist. This hands-on class combines art history with personal expression, encouraging kids to experiment, develop new skills, and discover their own creativity while learning from the masters.

ANIMAL PASSPORT

Pack your bags and get ready to travel the world in Animal Passport! Students will explore amazing animals from every continent, learning about their habitats, behaviors, and unique adaptations. Through geography, science, art, and hands-on projects, kids will create animal-inspired art, investigate how creatures interact with their environments, and discover the incredible diversity of life on our planet. This interactive class sparks curiosity, creativity, and a sense of adventure in every young explorer.
